Brent was born in Minneapolis and moved with his parents to Lake Bronson, MN when he was young. In Lake Bronson, he grew up on a small grains and beef farm. He attended school in Karlstad, MN and graduated from Tri-County High School. After high school, Brent enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Brent's military career brought him all over the world: to Germany, Tacoma, WA, Grand Forks, ND, Qatar, and back to Grand Forks, where he retired after 21 years of service to our nation. Along the road, he served two deployments to Saudi Arabia, two to Turkey, and one to Bahrain. He was assigned to F-16, Ground Launch Cruise Missile, airlift and tanker units. As he progressed through the ranks the responsibility grew; by the end of his military career his assignments consisted of overseeing dozens of personnel as well as managing annual budgets exceeding $1 million. His leadership was honed through attendance at Airman Leadership School, Noncommissioned Officer Academy and Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy.
After retirement from the Air Force, Brent used his GI Bill benefits to return to the University of North Dakota and complete his Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation and Tourism. He has since worked for Special Olympics North Dakota and Ideal Aerosmith, and has also served as a Corrections Officer at Northwest Regional Correction Center. Brent is currently a Materials Coordinator at New Flyer of America in Crookston.
Brent is married to Constance Lindstrom, a Senior Biofuels Analyst for Christianson, PLLP, an ag-focused accounting and consulting business based in West Central Minnesota.
Brent and Constance have three adult sons.
Brent and Constance reside in East Grand Forks, MN.
